Bachelor of Arts, Dance Education
Texas Woman's University
Jenny Willis is in her fifth year as Assistant Director of the Lovejoy High School Majestics. Mrs. Willis is a graduate of Denton High School where she spent three years on the Fillies Drill Team and served as a Senior Lieutenant. She began her dance training at the age of three at studios including Liz Gallego’s School of Dance, Dance Elite of Denton, and Denton Ballet Academy. Here, she learned technique in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, and Modern.
Mrs. Willis continued her education at Texas Woman’s University, graduating in 2011 with a B.A. in Dance Education. Here, she performed in student produced shows every semester and even had a piece she choreographed selected to be performed at the Dance UpClose Concert in 2010. The Modern Dance curriculum at TWU provided a sense of body awareness and teaching strategies that have greatly influenced her dance outlook. Mrs. Willis got the chance to dance with many prominent dance figures while she was a Pioneer, including Bebe Miller and Teena Marie Custer. In her senior year, she was awarded the Anne Schley Duggan “Outstanding Senior Award” for the TWU Dance Department.
After graduating, Mrs. Willis taught in Round Rock ISD and Richardson ISD before coming to Lovejoy and the Majestics organization. In her spare time, Mrs. Willis enjoys spending time with her husband, Peter, and their child, Vera!
